South Slough Reserve, Oregon
Stewardship
The stewardship activities include the development and implementation of the Winchester Tidelands Restoration Project to examine the most effective restoration of historically diked tidal wetlands that were used for agricultural purposes. Reserve staff is examining the benefits of these restoration efforts on restoring and improving juvenile salmon rearing habitat. The reserve is also developing the cooperative plan for watershed conservation in which the public has been engaged in identifying and prioritizing parcels in the South Slough watershed for inclusion into the South Slough Reserve.
