Old Woman Creek, Ohio

Facilities

The Old Woman Creek Reserve administrative offices are located on-site in the Ohio Center for Coastal Wetlands Studies. The building is situated near the estuary, where visitors can enjoy a scenic trail system with boardwalks and observation areas overlooking estuarine wetlands and Lake Erie. The facility houses a visitor center complete with natural history exhibits, a library and office space for reserve staff. Other features of the center include fully equipped water chemistry and microbiology laboratories, a weather station, computers and multi-media equipment, field sampling gear and shallow-draft watercraft. Another important feature of the reserve is its dormitory, which provides sleeping and cooking accommodations for up to 20 researchers, students or program participants.
